Let’s talk about something that’s been blowing up lately, which is AI training jobs. With the rise of chatbots, generative AI, and massive language models, companies need tons of human input to help train these systems.
You don’t need a special degree, years of experience, or any tech knowledge to start. Most of these jobs are entry-level, flexible, remote, and open worldwide. I’ve been doing this kind of work for a while now, and I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the frustrating parts. I’ve also talked to tons of people on Reddit and in Discord groups who’ve shared their own experiences.
These jobs aren’t perfect and are very unreliable. Use them to earn some extra cash, to learn new skills, and to gain remote work experience. I used to work on Appen projects back in 2023, and one day, the client just decided they didn’t want contributors from my region anymore. That was it. No warning. So don’t treat these jobs like a full-time job.
I’m also testing out a few lesser-known AI training platforms and will share them once I can confirm they’re legitimate and have projects available.
Here are the 14 best AI training jobs that are actually hiring in 2025 and what you need to know before jumping in.
1. Outlier
Outlier AI is one of the more credible platforms out there. They have a variety of projects, from generalist roles to more niche position projects for subject experts, musicians, etc. I have worked on a biology project with them, and I was able to make $28/hour. It was honestly pretty slick. And you can earn more on projects if you have an advanced degree (master’s, PhD) or expertise in any coding-related field. There is something for everyone, so I highly recommend checking out their careers page.
Payment is $14-$30/hour for generalist roles, and some people are making $5,000/month or more. I have seen people earn over $5,000 a month. I have seen people showing proof of earnings on the Outlier community. Application: Sign up and verify your ID, and take a couple of assessments. Payment rates differ from country to country.
Payment method: PayPal
2. Mercor
Mercor is another AI training job platform you should check out. It’s a legit company, similar to Outlier, and the projects are quite identical to Outlier. Most of the projects are for people in the USA, Canada, and Australia, but they also have a few openings for other countries, but not as many as the countries I’ve mentioned.
The application process starts with submitting your resume, then answering a few basic questions or short assessments. After that, you go through an AI interview and confirm your work authorization. Once accepted, you sign a contract and start working remotely.
The lowest pay I’ve seen is around $16 per hour, while most projects usually pay between $30–$40 per hour on average. Some specialized projects, especially for PhD-level professionals, accountants, or people with niche expertise, can even go up to $120 per hour depending on the role and experience level. As I already said, the pay rate depends on your country.
Payment method: Stripe
I first came across Mercor on Reddit and thought it might be a scam because people were posting referral links everywhere. I did some research and found that the company offers a good referral bonus. After checking their website, watching the CEO’s interviews, and confirming their funding, I can say Mercor is a real and trusted company that’s worth checking out if you like outlier AI.
3. Alignerr
Alignerr is another platform that connects people to remote projects in AI training and data annotation, where you help train AI models.. It’s quite similar to Outlier or Mercor, but with slightly fewer projects. Once you create your Alignerr account, the first thing to do is complete the General Experience Verification Training under the Assessments section. This training is required before you can access any projects, so make sure you take it seriously. The interview is with an AI called Zara for only 10 minutes, just to evaluate how well you can communicate. After that, go to your Profile and update your availability — choose the days and hours you want to work. You can also set your hourly rate, like $20 or $40 per hour, depending on your experience and skill.
Pay rate ranges from $15 to $150/hour, depending on projects.
Payment method: Deel
4. Stellar AI
Stellar AI provides different AI training jobs where you help train and improve AI models by reviewing chatbot responses, fact-checking, or documenting how you search online. You will be comparing AI chatbot answers: You’ll see two answers from a chatbot and need to judge which one is better based on things like accuracy, tone, length, and overall quality. Fact-checking and rewriting AI responses: If you’re more confident in a subject area, you’ll get to write questions, review AI-generated responses, and fix them with the right tone and facts. The application process is that you sign up, do an online assessment, and sometimes have interviews.
Pay rate is around $25/hour, sometimes more, depending on the project. If you are promoted to a reviewer, your pay rate also increases.
Payment method: Stripe
I applied for Stellar AI last year and still haven’t heard anything back. It’s frustrating. That said, I’ve seen plenty of people on Reddit say they got in within a week. So it’s hit or miss.
5. DataAnnotation.tech
DataAnnotation.tech provides different AI training jobs provides jobs as labeling images, evaluating chatbot responses, and tagging audio or video to help train AI, such as teaching self-driving cars to recognize objects. You can start as a generalist with no experience, doing tasks like chatbot evaluation and story writing. For those with coding skills, there are higher-paying opportunities available. Data Annotation Tech currently hires only in the US, UK, and Australia. The application process starts with an assessment, and don’t stress if it takes a few days to hear back, because they take a while to reach out.
The payment rate starts at $20/hour for generalist roles and is higher for specialist projects. The pay rate entirely depends on your educational background and country.
Payout method: PayPal
6. SuperAnnotate
SuperAnnotate, as you know, is a leading platform in AI training and data annotation, and they’ve recently launched a career portal for freelancers called SME Careers. Their new platform is to focus on hiring AI trainers and annotators. To get started, visit the career portal, click “Apply,” and fill in your details—your email, name, LinkedIn or GitHub profile, country, currency, and upload your CV. You can also enter a specific Job ID if you’re targeting a particular role. After submitting, you’ll get a verification email to set up your account.
Once your account is ready, complete your profile by adding your availability, education, skills, languages, and previous work experience. Be sure to highlight primary and secondary skills, native and work languages, and past companies you’ve worked with, along with approximate earnings. Save your information and wait to be shortlisted for a test or interview. The pay rate starts from $25 but may vary.
Since SME Careers is still new, applying now gives you an early advantage.
7. Lionbridge
Lionbridge is one of the OG companies for remote work and AI projects. They’ve been around for years, offering jobs like search engine evaluation, translation, transcription, data annotation, and game testing. I’ve personally worked with them before, so I know they’re legit and pay on time. Most of Lionbridge’s projects now run through Aurora AI, which is their new platform for working.
The trick to getting started faster is to sign up directly on Aurora AI instead of waiting through the long Lionbridge application process. When signing up, make sure your profile is 100% complete. Select all the task types you’re interested in, like AI training, language annotation, search engine evaluation, or translation. Add your languages, attach your CV, and fill out all relevant fields. Once your profile is complete, Aurora Studio will show you available projects.
If you don’t see any tasks right away or want to apply for more steady projects rather than short task types, Google “Jobslever Lionbridge” and check the openings you’re interested in. If they find you fit, they’ll email you to join Aurora AI. Since you already have an account, just wait a few days for the next steps, like tests and project invitations. The pay ranges from $14, but it totally depends on the country and project or task.
Payment method: Bank account and gift card.
8. Oneforma
OneForma has been around a while. They offer all kinds of AI training jobs, from microtasks, transcription, data collection, search engine evaluation, and even some recording jobs. It’s open to most countries, which is the reason why they always have a lot of applicants, and it takes them time to hear back. They only get back to you if there is a spot available for the project, same with Appen, which I am gonna talk about later. The application process is that you have to apply for the job and do a few certification courses, and take a certification test, which is just like an assessment.
The pay rate generally starts at $18/hour, but it totally depends on your location and the project.
Payment method: Payoneer or bank transfer
9. Welocalize
Welocalize hires mostly for search quality rating, ads quality rating, and language-related tasks. They also have several other projects, but the main ones they regularly hire are these three. They have also recently launched a new music and video evaluation project, so by the time you read this blog, they might have another new project. it’s a good idea to check out their website. Welocalize is also one of the companies you can rely on since they have steady projects, although the projects don’t last long, and they have some term projects. The application process is that you apply for the project, take the English assessment test, and then the actual project exam(they will send you guidelines to prepare), and lastly, the onboarding and payment setup.
Pay rate is generally $8 to $20/hour, depending on where you live and the project.
Payment method: Payoneer or bank transfer

10. Telus
Telus is another company known for providing AI training jobs. They are a well-known remote work platform that’s been around for years. The company mainly hires for map evaluation, AI data annotation, rating, audio collection tasks, and testing. They have new projects these days for people with master’s and PhD degrees. They hire in almost every country, but the downside is that you don’t have a steady flow of work. Some weeks are full of tasks, and some days are dry. I personally feel that Telus has a strong, steady client because they always seem to have new projects coming up. The application process is pretty simple. You just go to their website(I have provided the link highlighted in green; they have many websites, so it might be confusing) and apply for available jobs in your country. Once you find a job that fits, apply for it and wait for their reply. There is no interview or phone call involved; most positions don’t even require a test.
Payment generally starts at $18/hour based on the role and location.
Payment method: Payoneer or direct deposit.
Payout method: Deel
12. Invisible Technologies
Invisible Technologies does a little bit of everything; Their projects range from customer support, AI evaluation, subject matter experts, STEM-related coding jobs, language AI trainers, and other task-based jobs. But I am gonna be honest, their support is the absolute worst I have seen. I have applied for a lot of their projects and received an email every time to proceed with the assessment, but I never received an actual link to do the assessment, and the support never replies. Even though their support is shit, the company is legit, so it might be worth checking out. One good thing, though, is that there are projects for different languages like English, Russian, Korean, Latvian, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, French, Spanish, and more.
The pay rate varies, but generally between $5–$60/hour.
Payment method: Wise
13. Crowdgen (formerly Appen )
Crowdgen (previously known as Appen) is a platform where you can earn money by doing simple online tasks like data collection, content rating, and project evaluations. They have everything to be honest. But getting a project is very slow on Appen because they always have a lot of applicants, and it takes time to hear back, and sometimes not at all. You will be lucky if a new spot opens up because someone is kicked out of the project. The application process is you apply, take the exams, and that’s it. If you fail, the task disappears from your dashboard, but don’t worry, new ones keep coming. You’ll need a laptop for most projects, but some may work on mobile, too. Crowdgen always has new AI training jobs, so sign up and keep checking your dashboard for new projects and apply before the spots fill.
Appen is known for a low pay rate $2–$36/hour, but since they transitioned to Crowdgen, the pay is slightly getting better; some projects now offer $18, $36, or even over $600/hour.
Payout method: Payoneer and local bank transfers.
14. RWS
RWS is similar to Telus International. They have projects like search evaluation, language-related projects, and different AI training projects. I’m currently working on their Callisto project. The job is solid, but some days, the tasks are super dry, so it is very unreliable for a full-time job. RWS is a fairly new company, but I think they are catching up to Telus. One good thing I can say about RWS is that the pay is always on time. Application tests can be tough. I went through three parts exam.
The pay rate is $4 to $20/hour, depending on the location and project.
Payment method: PayPal or bank transfer
Final Thoughts
These are some of the best AI training jobs that I have gathered. Remember, working with AI training platforms can be a great way to earn from home, but they are not a guaranteed paycheck and consistent. These jobs can be a great way to earn extra income, but there’s no promise of steady income. One week you’re working daily on a project, and the next week it might go quiet. Apply for as many platforms as possible so that you have a chance of getting into at least one project.
If this post helped you, feel free to share it or save it for later.
