Let’s talk about something that’s been blowing up lately which is AI training remote jobs. With the rise of chatbots, generative AI, and large language models, companies need tons of human input to help train these systems. I’ve been in the AI training space since 2022 and have worked with several companies on different projects, so I know what’s worth applying for and what’s not worth your time. Through my experience and research, I’ve identified the highest-paying and best sites to apply to.
Yes, there are many companies like Outlier, Appen, and Telus that hire for AI training jobs, but they are often overcrowded with applicants, low-paying, have limited projects, or come with long wait times. Most AI training jobs don’t require prior experience, but you’ll usually need at least a degree. These roles are typically entry-level, flexible, remote, and open worldwide. I’ve been doing this work for a while now, and I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the frustrating parts.
AI is evolving quickly, and these models keep improving through human training. Because of this, generalist AI roles may start to disappear, with more specialized roles opening up instead. Another prediction I have is that there could be a rise in humanoid robot training jobs this year. So, these jobs aren’t stable, and you shouldn’t rely on them as a full-time replacement.

Here Are The 6 Highest-Paying AI Training Remote Job Sites:
1. SuperAnnotate
SuperAnnotate launched their AI training remote jobs portal called SME Careers. The company has raised a total of $75.1 million in funding and is backed by several ventures.
The reason I ranked SuperAnnotate number 1 is because they are still fairly new, not oversaturated yet, have a decent number of projects. From my personal experience, the people I’ve referred to, friends and family have actually received projects, which shows they are actively hiring. They offer generalist roles, technical roles, creative roles, and even many bilingual roles. So even if you are not highly skilled or don’t have experience, there are still plenty of projects to apply for if you know English and another language. The pay rate starts at $25 per hour but can depend on your location. Some locations are mentioned in the job listings, but they are not specific to that country, so if you have the skills, just apply.
To get started, click the link, choose “Subject Matter Expert,” and fill in your details, your email, password, Once your account is ready, complete your profile by adding your availability, education, skills, languages, and previous work experience. You will also go through an AI interview, which is about 10 minutes but may vary depending on the role. When I was working on a project with them, the onboarding email took about a week to arrive, but this timeline may be different now.

2. Mercor
Mercor is another AI training jobs platform you should check out. Mercor has raised over $492 million across several rounds and has also become one of the fastest-growing companies in terms of revenue. It’s similar to Outlier, but they’ve surpassed outlier in every aspects now, and they partner with most AI labs, so they have a large number of projects.
The reason I ranked Mercor second is because the competition is very high, and it can take at least 2 to 4 weeks to get a response. Their hiring criteria is unclear, you can be qualified for a role but still not get selected. You might apply for multiple roles and not get anything. Most projects are limited to people in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia. They do have projects for other countries, but these are mostly technical roles and bilingual roles. But, one good thing about Mercor is that they promote people to reviewer roles and may invite you to projects based on your assessment results, even if you didn’t apply.
The application process starts with submitting your resume, followed by basic questions or short assessments. After that, you go through an AI interview and confirm your work authorization. Once accepted, you sign a contract and start working remotely.
The lowest pay I’ve seen is around $40 per hour, while most projects pay between $40–$60 per hour. Some specialized roles can go up to $300 per hour depending on expertise.

3. Ethos AI
Ethos AI is another AI training platform built by teams from McKinsey, SoftBank, and DeepMind. It is a new London-based startup that raised €3 million ($3.25M) in seed funding in March 2025, led by firms like General Catalyst. They partner with investment funds, Fortune 500 companies, and AI labs, hiring experts for roles in finance, tech, healthcare, law, and consulting.
Ethos offers multiple earning options such as AI model training roles, paid advisory calls, and paid research surveys. You can set your own rate and availability. The lowest pay I’ve seen is $100 per hour, with an average around $300 per hour. Ethos mainly hires experts in specialized fields, which is why the pay is high and the platform is less saturated.
When you apply, you upload your CV or LinkedIn profile and complete a 30-minute AI interview. After that, you may get matched with projects.
4. Abaka AI
Abaka AI is another global human data company. This is where I am currently working. Abaka has raised over $20 million from Future Value Capital and China’s Spine Capital. The client for the project I’m working on is OpenAI. They have many projects listed, but currently seem to hire only for Image and video AI trainer role. I was recently invited to a bounding box project and passed the assessment but haven’t heard back yet. This is why I ranked Abaka fourth because, they are slow and can take at least a month to respond. Some of the roles listed on their site are Photoshop AI specialist, generalist trainer, STEM/coding expert, and subject matter expert. Pay ranges from $25 to $45 per hour.
The application process changes often. Usually, you sign up through their platform (RemoExperts), complete your profile and ID verification, and then receive an assessment. After submitting, you may get a response within a week or a month. The image/video training assessment has two parts and is easy to follow, but you must be very careful with details as they are strict. If selected, you’ll receive a Slack invite, contract, and onboarding. For image and Video trainer role, there will be another screening stage on the client platform but you will be paid for the screening time, even if you fail.

5. Micro1
Micro1 is another startup that raised $35 million and hires for various AI training remote jobs. They work with Fortune 100 companies that need AI model training. The platform offers a variety of projects and is not yet saturated. They also seem to be hiring consistently, as many people post about starting projects there on LinkedIn. I personally know people in Canada and the US who have received projects.
The platform has improved a lot. Earlier, you had to complete an AI interview for every application, but that’s no longer always required. However, passing the interview does not guarantee immediate work. Pay usually starts from $25 per hour.
You create an account, complete your profile, and apply for roles. After applying, you may receive an AI video interview (15–20 minutes). If you pass, you get approved and added to their system, where you can access projects and updates.

6. Handshake AI
Handshake AI is another AI training remote jobs platform that pays up to $75 per hour for AI training. It has raised over $444 million and is widely used by students and universities in the US. They have reportedly paid over $100 million to more than 100,000 people.
They offer roles for science professionals, voice actors, and finance-related positions. However, I ranked Handshake AI last because it has strict eligibility requirements. You must be a current student, recent graduate, or pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree. It is mainly open to US and Canada-based students, so even though the work is remote, you need proper work authorization. International students may apply depending on their visa type. The sign-up process includes linking your university, verifying your phone number, completing ID verification, and applying for jobs.

Final Thoughts
These are currently some of the highest-paying AI training remote jobs sites, but keep in mind that things change fast in this space. New platforms come up, pay rates changes, and project availability can vary depending on demand.
If you’re planning to get into AI training jobs, apply to multiple sites, stay consistent, and don’t rely on just one platform. This works best as a flexible income source rather than a stable full-time job.
